MYMENSINGH, March 25, 2025 (BSS) - An elderly couple was killed in a road accident at Churkhai intersection in Sadar upazila here this afternoon.

The deceased were Abdul Hekim, 80, and his wife Ajmara Khatun, 70, residents of Churkhai area of the upazila.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway around 2 pm when a speedy covered van hit the couple as they were crossing the road together, said Shafiqul Islam Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station.

They died on the spot, he said.

Police recovered the bodies and sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue.
