CHATTOGRAM, April 24, 2025 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today granted two-day remand to a lawyer Forhad Uddin and a computer operator Suman Dey in a case filed on charges of making a fake affidavit with seal and signature of judge.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Abu Bakar Siddique allowed the remand order as police produced them before the court and pleaded for seven-day remand; however the court granted a two-day remand.
Earlier, a case was filed with Kotowali Thana on March 18 on charges of forging the seal and signature of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sarkar Hasan Shahriar and making a fake affidavit.
Abul Kalam Azad, the Nazir of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court lodged a case with Kotowali Thana against a woman- Rosy Akhter and other four to five unknown people as accused.
In the case, allegations were brought against the accused Rosy Akhter and the unknown accused that they in connivance with each other have created a fake affidavit using five fake seals, three fake signatures and serial numbers of various courts of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate.
While investigating the case, police first arrested Rosy Akhter on March 22. Later, based on information provided by her, police arrested lawyer Farhad Uddin on March 23 on charges his involvement in the forgery. Farhad Uddin took TK 5,000 from the person for each fake affidavit.
Farhad Uddin told police during interrogation that after getting the necessary papers, he had prepared the false affidavit on non-judicial stamp from computer shop owner Sumon Dey. Based on his information, police arrested another computer operator Nayan Dey from the shop.
