Regional Mathematics Olympiad held in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, April 25, 2025 (BSS) - A daylong regional Mathematics Olympiad was held at Shah Makhdum Degree College in the city today.

UCMAS Bangladesh hosted the colourful event with the main thrust of fostering and assessing the cognitive skills of children aged 5-15.

More than 2,000 students from 113 schools in all eight districts under Rajshahi division took part in three categories of the competition.

After the competition, the winners, who will compete at national level, were given prize money and crests.

Talking to BSS at the event, UCMAS Chairman Ahsan Kabir said they are willing to enhance the students problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and memory through a kinesthetic and multi-sensory learning approach using the abacus as a tool.

Additionally, the Olympiad is the key to develop their focus, alertness, and overall communication skills.

Kabir also said mathematics is a significant aspect of developing technological advancements in children. Understanding the logic and concept of Math is important. And so is executing them in many useful areas.
