DINAJPUR, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested 10 suspected drug peddlers, including four women with 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets during a raid at the house of former lawmaker Mokhlesur Rahman in the Paharpur area of the town today.
Police also seized two motorbikes, eight mobile phones, 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets and Taka 1.12 lakh from their possessions, said Dinajpur Kotwali Tahan Inspector Md Matiur Rahman.
The arrestees have been identified as Tanvir Huda Susham, 54, son of late Nurul Huda of Paharpur; Golam Mohammad Mamtazur Rahman Raj, 32, son of late Shamsur Rahman of Idghaon; Md Parvez Alam Raju, son of Md Abul Hossain from Paliga village in Pirganj upazila of Thakugaon district; Bishnu Roy, 26, son of Punendra Roy of Garanpur village of Kaharol upazila of Dinajpur district; Shamim Hossain, 45, son of Fazlur Rahman of Pulhat Malipara village in Sadar upazila; Rubel Islam, 35, son of Nazrul Islam of Purbo Sadipur village in Kaharol upazila; Joba Chowdhury Sara, 20, wife of Golam Md Mamtajul Rahman Raj of Madabpur village in Sadar upazila; Ria Begum, 23, daughter of Riazul Islam of Mission Road area of Lalmonirhat; Moni Akther, 18, daughter of late Tayeb Ali of the same area and Nilima Islam, 19, daughter of Kukir Uddin of Khanapra Railway Colony of Lalmonirhat.
Two separate cases have been filed in this regard, police said.
