CUMILLA, May 13, 2025 (BSS) - A public awareness workshop on Safe Food was held here today in the conference room of Deputy Commissioner's office. 

The capacity enhancement project of the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority organized the event. 

Project Director (Joint Secretary) of the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority A. N. M. Nazim Uddin was present as the chief guest in the event. 

Among others, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Pankaj Barua presided over the event while Assistant Superintendent of Police Nisha Tabassum and Deputy Civil Surgeon Sarwar Alam were present as the special guest. 

Senior Consultant of Safe Food Md Ayub Hossain presented the keynote speech.

A. N. M. Nazim Uddin said, "We are conducting workshops with individuals concerned to create public awareness about safe food. By building awareness among all, we can ensure food safety. So everyone should come forward."

"The government, under this project, has taken various awareness-raising initiatives across the country for food producers, suppliers, officials, workers, consumers and the general public to ensure safe food for consumers at all levels," he added.

Hotel and restaurant entrepreneurs, representatives of food traders' associations, leaders of market committees, NGO workers, social workers, teachers, and government officials and media personnel participated in the workshop.
