Youth killed in Netrakona lightning strike

NETRAKONA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - A youth was killed in lightning strike at Satia village under Kaliara Gabragati union in sadar upazila today.

The deceased was Rabbi Mia, 18, son of Abdul Barek, a resident of the same village.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Asma Binte Rafique confirmed the incident.

Thunderbolt struck Rabbi when he was returning home from his peanut field near his house during rain around 11.30am.

Locals rescued him and sent to Sidhli Bazar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
