PATUAKHALI, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - Twenty-eight maunds of sea shrimp were seized from a Dhaka-bound passenger bus in Kalapara upazila of the district last night. 

According to sources, a team led by Kalapara Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md Yasin Sadek conducted a drive in front of the Payra Port Four-Lane Road area around 10:00pm and seized the shrimp.

The seized shrimp were later distributed among 26 orphanages.

Defying the government's ban, a gang had caught the shrimp and attempted to transport them to Dhaka.
