A Motorcyclist killed in Rangpur road accident

RANGPUR, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed and two of his companions were injured in a road accident at the Shothibari Filling Station point on the Rangpur-Dhaka Highway under Mithapukur Upazila of the district today.

 
"The accident occurred when a fish carrying pickup van running to Rangpur collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at around 12:00 noon, killing one motorcyclist and injuring two others," Barodorga Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Moniruzzaman told BSS.

 
The deceased was identified as Redwan Mia alias Sihab, 16, son of Majnu Mia of Jaladipur village in Chengmari union of Mithapukur upazila in the district.

 
Meanwhile, two injured people have been rescued in critical conditions and sent to the hospital. They are all electricians. 

 
However, the pickup van managed to flee after the incident.


"A case was filed in this regard at Mithapukur Police Station," the Highway Police OC added.
