Day-long partner congress held with farmers' participation in Natore

NATORE, May 14, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long Partner Congress was held today in Baraigram upazila of the district with the aim of increasing the skills and awareness among farmers.

The congress was organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the 'Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNERS)' project at the upazila parishad auditorium.

Presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Laila Jannatul Ferdous, it was addressed by Partner's Senior Monitoring Officer for Rajshahi region Md. Abdul Latif as main discussant. Additional Deputy Director of Natore Department of Agricultural Extension Lutfunnahar spoke as a special guest at the program.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmin Sultana said that 35 farmer partner schools have already been formed to motivate farmers in the upazila to adopt advanced technology and knowledge-based farming. 

Each school has 25 farmer members. In these schools, farmers are being trained on good agricultural practices, setting and implementing standards for fruit and vegetable production, developing high-yielding rice varieties, and creating agricultural entrepreneurs.
