Four including banned BCL, Juboleague activists held in Khulna

KHULNA, May 14, 2025 (BSS) – Police in separate drives on Wednesday arrested four people, including banned Chhatra League and Jubo League activists from Khulna city and district.

In Paikgachha upazila, police have arrested two Union Parishad (UP) members and a banned Chhatra League leader named Prince in connection with a sabotage case this morning.

On information, police arrested Saiful Islam Moral, 40, a member of ward No. 5 of Raduli Union, from the Baka Bazar area.
 
Later, they arrested Piyush Kanti Dash alias Bappi, 45, a member of ward No. 11 of the same union, from Kathipara Bazar area.

In another drive, police arrested Mostafa Rafid Prince, 19, the joint secretary of the banned Chandkhali union Chhatra League, around 11 am from Laxmikhola Bazar in Laskar Union, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Paigachha police station Idrisur Rahman confirmed.

He said that the arrested were sent to jail through legal procedures.

In addition, the Detective Branch (DB) of KMP arrested Md. Solaiman Moral, a member of the Batiaghata Upazila Jubo League, from the Royal Hotel intersection in Khulna city today.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of DB police Taimur Islam said that Solaiman, son of Md Kalam Morol, resident at Chhoto Boyra area, had carried out various terrorist activities to disrupt the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, allegedly with the support of the banned student organization Chhatra League and armed Jubo League cadres during the July-August uprising.

He is also a suspected criminal in a case filed at Khulna Sadar police station on December 12 last year. Legal action is being taken against him, he added.
