Lightning strike kills farmer in Lalmonirhat

LALMONIRHAT, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer was killed in a lightning strike in Shofirhat area under Patgram upazila of the district in the morning.

The deceased was Md Karim Islam, 56, a farmer of Shofirhat area under Baura union of Patgram upazila.

Patgram Police Station's Officer-in-charge Swapan Kumar Sarkar said that Karim was struck by the lightning while he was on the way to his crop field from his house. He died on the spot.
