DNCRP fines Tk 50,000 for slaughtering pregnant cows in Tangail

TANGAIL, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection (DNCRP) has fined a trader Taka 50,000 for slaughtering and selling pregnant cows in Tangail town.

The trader named Subel Miah, son of Md Shafiqul Islam of Paikpara village of the sadar upazila, has been running the meat business at Battala Bazar of the town.

The inspector of the municipality's slaughterhouse in Battala Bazar identified the pregnant cow. He then informed the veterinarian of the Sadar Upazila Livestock Services Department. 

The veterinarian after examining the cow found that it was two months pregnant.

After hearing the incident, DNCRP Deputy Director Asaduzzaman Rumel said he immediately arrived at Battala Bazar and fined the trader.
