NILPHAMARI, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - The distribution of rice under the Vulnerable Group Feeding (VGF) programme is currently underway across the district here ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.
A total of 2,521.82 metric tons of rice is being allocated to 2,52,182 low-income families, with each family receiving 10 kilograms.
The initiative, overseen by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, is being carried out through 60 union parishads and four municipalities.
According to the District Relief and Rehabilitation Office, the distribution began on May 24 and is scheduled to be completed by June 3.
The upazila-wise distribution includes 40,913 families in Dimla, 35,946 in Domar, 46,378 in Jaldhaka, 26,207 in Kishoreganj, 59,708 in Sadar, and 43,030 in Syedpur.
