40 injured in Kushtia road accident

KUSHTIA, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - At least 40 people were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a passenger bus in Khoksha upazila of the district today.

Among the injured, seven individuals are in critical condition.

The accident took place at Paikpara Mirzapur area when a goods-laden truck collided head-on with a bus this morning, leaving its 40 passengers injured, said Sheikh Moinul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khoksa Police Station.

Following the incident, local residents along with fire service personnel quickly responded, rescued the injured and sent them to Khoksha Upazila Health Complex and Kushtia General Hospital.

The seven critically injured victims were later transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

Necessary legal action will be taken, the OC said.
