GAIBANDHA, June 6, 2025 (BSS) - A couple died in a road accident around 9:00pm on Thursday in the Chapriganj area on the Bogura-Rangpur Highway.

The victims, Anwar Hossain and his wife Sharmin Akhter, hailed from Katgiri village, Shilkuri union, Bhurungamari upazila, Kurigram. 

They worked at a garments factory in Dhaka and were riding a motorcycle home for Eid-ul-Azha.

A truck hit them from behind, killing both on the spot.

Gobindaganj Highway Police Station OC Mojaffar Rahman said police seized the truck, but the driver and helper fled.
