Four killed in Mymensingh road accidents

MYMENSINGH, June 6, 2025 (BSS) - Four persons including father and son were killed and 12 others injured in separate road accidents in Tarakanda upazila of the district today.

The deceased were Md Parvez Mia, 35, of Sanarpar village in Siddhirganj police station of Narayanganj district and his son Md Hasan Mia, 8, Md Sharif Mia, 25, son of Md Monnach Mia of Pithasuta village of Tarakanda upazila of Mymensingh and Habibur Rahman, 45, of Sadhupara village of the same upazila.

Tarakanda Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Tipu Sultan said the first accident occurred when the driver of a passenger bus lost control over the steering and hit a roadside wall at West Taldighi Fakirbari on the Mymensingh-Sherpur regional road, leaving Parvez and Hasan killed on the spot and 12 others injured.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to local hospital.

The OC said they seized the bus.

The another accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Gachtola area of the upazila, leaving auto-rickshaw driver Sharif and its passenger Habibur killed on the spot.

Legal actions have been taken these regards.
