GAIBANDHA, June 6, 2025 (BSS) - Three people were killed and three others injured in a collision between a battery-run auto-rickshaw and a passenger bus this afternoon in Dokanghar area on the Gaibandha-Palashbari regional highway. 

Police said the auto-rickshaw was heading to Palashbari Upazila town in the afternoon. When the auto-rickshaw reached the Dokanghar area, it collided head-on with a passenger bus namely Ritu Paribahan, leaving two passengers of the auto-rickshaw and its driver dead on the spot. 

Later, the locals rescued the injured ones and admitted them to Palashbari Upazila health complex. Latter, they were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. 

The dead were auto-driver Goni Miah of Narail village under Betkapa union of Palashbari Upazila in the district and passengers -- Liakot Ali and Ibnurul -- of the same village. 

Officer-in-charge of Palashbari thana Julfikar Ali Bhutto confirmed the incident and said the killer bus was also detained.
