THAKURGAON, June 7, 2025 (BSS) - A van driver was killed in a road accident at Pirganj in the district today. 

The accident occurred around 1.00 am following a head-on collision between an auto-charger and a van coming from the opposite direction on the Women's College Road at Raghunathpur Sundari More in the municipality, leaving the van driver seriously injured, locals said.

Locals took him to Pirganj Upazila Health Complex and the doctor on duty referred him to Dinajpur Medical College for better treatment. He died there on Saturday afternoon while undergoing treatment.

Pirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tajul Islam confirmed it, saying the deceased  Shariful Islam , 35,  hailed from Keutgaon Joykur village in Daulatpur union of Pirganj upazila.
