GAIBANDHA, June 27, 2025 (BSS) - A minor boy tragically drowned in a pond at Ratanpur village under Cochasahar union in Gobindaganj upazila on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Soikat Miah, 3, son of Farhan Prodhan of the same village.

According to family members, the child had been playing near the pond adjacent to their home when he accidentally fell into the water. 

After he went missing, relatives began searching for him and later discovered his body floating in the pond.

Local union parishad chairman Mosarrof Hossain Sweet confirmed the incident.
