Eight members of a juvenile gang held in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, June 28, 2025(BSS) - The joint forces have arrested eight members of a juvenile gang from Maheshpur railway station area under Khaliani Upazila here last night.

Based on secret information, the joint forces raided Maheshpur rail station area at about 10.30pm last night and arrested eight members of local ‘demon boys group’. They also seized ganza (cannabis), tools for taking cannabis and mobile phone sets from their possessions.

The arrested persons are - Intemam Mollah,20, son of Mostafa Mollah of Maheshpur village, Md Jisan,20, son of Mofizur Rahman of Gerakhola village, Hamza Munshi,20, son of Monir Munshi of Hoglakandi village, Anik Mahmud,20, son of Arif Mollah of the same village, Aslam Yasmin Sharif,20, and Belal Mollah, 20, son of Jalal Mollah, Ashik Munsh,20, son of Esken Munshi, all are from West Majhigati village and Hamid Sheikh, 20, son of Wahid Sheikh of Dolagram.
 
Captain Istekhar Tawhid, In-charge of Ratil Horticulture Camp told the journalists that after the arrest, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Kashiani Farzana Jannat awarded them 15 days jail to each. She also fined Taka 100 to each of the convicts and sent them to jail.
