CHATTOGRAM, June 28, 2025 (BSS) - Pahartali Thana Police have arrested Shamshuddoha Sikder Arju, the senior vice-president of the banned organization Chattogram North District Awami Jubo League.
 
Arju Sikder, who served as the president of Rangunia Upazila Jubo League for two terms, is a resident of Syedbari village in Ward No. 8 of Rangunia Municipality. 

Confirming the matter on Saturday, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pahartali thana Md. Babul Azad said that Arju was arrested by local people on Friday night in front of Saraipara Ebtedayi Madrasa in the city and handed over to them. 

A case has been filed against him in the city's Kotwali Thana.

It is known that since August 5 last year, several cases have been filed against Arju Sikder in various police stations and courts including Rangunia, Chandgaon and Kotwali in the city.

He had been in hiding for a long time since the ousted of the Awami League government.
