FENI, June 29, 2025 (BSS) - A woman and her son were killed in a train accident on the Dhaka-Chattogram rail line near Feni Railway Station last night.
The deceased were Fatematuzzohra, 63, and her son Hafez Uddin, 40, residents of Paschim Pathan Nagar Miaji Bari under Pathannagar union in Chhagalnaiya upazila of the district.
The accident occurred around 8:00pm when a train hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw as it was crossing the rail track, critically injuring its two passengers, said Md Iqbal Hossain, in-charge of the district GRP police.
They were immediately taken to Feni General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Hafez Uddin dead.
Fatematuzzohra was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital but died on the way around 11:30pm.
