Two killed in Cox's Bazar road accidents

COX'S BAZAR, June 29, 2025 (BSS) - Two people, including a madrasa student, 
were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in Ukhia and 
Teknaf upazilas of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Parvez Mosharraf, 19, son of Abul Faiz, a 
resident of Magnama in Pekua upazila and Sadia Rimu, 8, a madrasha student 
and daughter of late Saber Ahmed of Ukhia's North Palangkhali area.

The first accident took place on the Marine Drive road near Major Sinha 
Chattar in Baharchhara union of Teknaf around 11 am when a motorcycle 
collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw, leaving bike rider Parvez dead on the 
spot and six others injured, said Gias Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf 
Model Police Station.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital. 

Another accident occurred at noon when a bus hit a horse cart from opposite 
direction at Palangkhali Station in Ukhiya upazila, leaving its passenger 
Sadia injured, said Mohammad Arif Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya Police 
Station. 

Sadia was taken to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
