Five more Covid-19 cases reported in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 29, 2025 (BSS) – The port city has reported five more 
Covid-19 cases out of 135 tests in the last 24 hours in the district.

With the new number, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Chattogram has 
reached 135 in the past week, Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of 
Chattogram, told BSS.

Dr. Jahangir Alam mentioned that Coronavirus tests are currently being 
conducted in 11 different laboratories including the Chattogram Medical 
College Hospital (CMCH) RT-PCR lab.

Currently, 79 infected patients are undergoing treatment at various 
designated hospitals here. 

Out of the total 135 infected people, 122 are residents of the port city and 
the remaining 13 are residents of different upazilas. So far, seven people 
have died in Chattogram district.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the Health Department is 
prepared to prevent Corona infection and urged people from all walks of life 
to avoid crowds and wear masks.
