Banned BCL activist held in Khulna

KHULNA, July 1, 2025 (BSS) - Agitated locals detained and handed over a banned Chhatra League (BCL) activist to police after beating him up in the city's Alia Madrasa area last night.

The arrestee is Rafiqul Islam, son of Rafiqul Islam, resident of Rupsha Ispahani Lane in Khulna.

Rafiqul a student of the City's Alia Madrasa, was an activist of the banned BCL Alia Madrasa Unit, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Sadar Police Station confirmed.

According to police and local sources, Rafiqul was known for his involvement in various acts of intimidation and torture against students and others during the previous tenure of banned AL regime. He reportedly handed over several innocent students to the police at that time.
