Three killed in Jashore building balcony collapse

JASHORE, July 1, 2025 (BSS) - Two engineers and one worker were killed when a balcony of a six-storey under construction building collapsed in Circuit Housepara area of the district town this morning.


The deceased were identified as project engineer Mizanur Rahman, 35, of Mazampur area in Kushtia, site engineer Azizul Islam of Dinajpur and worker Ramzan Ali, 45, son of Nuru, aresident of Maharajpur village in Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.


The tragic incident occurred around 11:30 am while the three were supervising construction work on the fifth-floor balcony of the building. Suddenly, the balcony gave way, causing them to fall.


They were immediately rescued and taken to Jashore General Hospital where the on duty doctor declared them dead.


Officer-in-Charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station Abul Hasnat Khan confirmed the matte.
