MEHERPUR, July 1, 2025 (BSS) - Distribution of seeds, fertilizer and saplings 
has started in Sadar upazila under the agricultural incentive programme in 
the Kharif-2 season.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Khairul Islam inaugurated the programme as 
the chief guest at the upazila parishad hall room this afternoon with Upazila 
Agriculture Officer Muhammad Moniruzzaman in the chair.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer Monirul Islam, Primary Education Officer 
Faruk Uddin, Senior Fisheries Officer Fatema Kamrunnahar Ankhi, Project 
Implementation Officer Saidur Rahman, Rural Development Officer Rakib Uddin 
and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Zakaria Parvez, among others, were 
present at the programme.

According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, a target has been set to 
distribute 5 kg of seeds, 10 kg of DFP fertilizer, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer 
and 1050 coconut saplings to 1,680 farmers each.

Besides, mango saplings to 250 farmers, neem, betel, jam, and jackfruit 
saplings to 2,500 farmers, 10 kg of urea fertilizer, 20 kg of DAP, 10 kg of 
MOP, 10 kg of zinc sulfate, 1 kg of boron fertilizer, 12 kg of pesticides 
will be distributed to 1000 banana farmers each and Palm seedlings with 
fertilizer will be distributed to 500 people of the upazila.
