JHENAIDAH, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - A two years old boy drowned in the Kushna Baharampur River at Baharampur village under Kotchandpur upazila of the district this morning.
The deceased was identified as Alif, son of of Rashed Ali, a resident of the same village.
According to family sources, the child was playing near the river beside his house around 11 am when he fell into the water while trying to retrieve a ball and drowned in the river.
Family members rescued him and rushed him to Kotchandpur Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotchandpur Police Station Faiz Uddin Mridha confirmed the incident.
