Girl rescued, kidnapper held in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 2, 2025 (BSS)- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a kidnapped girl and arrested the prime accused from the Kathalbaria area under Kasiadanga Police Station in the city last night.

The arrestee was identified as Muhammad Bishal, 23, son of late Alam Ali, a resident of the same area, RAB sources said at a press briefing this noon.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-5 conducted a raid in the area and rescued the girl along with arresting the kidnapper around 10:30 pm.

Bishal, in collaboration with several accomplices, abducted the girl on the morning of June 24 while she was on her way to school around 9:30 am, Lt Col Masud Parvej, Commanding Officer of RAB-5, said.

Following the incident, the victim's father filed a case with Katakhali Police Station on June 26, he added.
