PATUAKHALI, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - Distribution of seeds, fertilizer and saplings has started in Bauphal upazila of the district under the agricultural incentive programme in the Kharif-2 season.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Aminul Islam inaugurated the programme as the chief guest at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium at noon with Upazila Agriculture Officer M Milon in the chair.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bauphal Police Station Akhtaruzzaman Sarkar, agriculture officers Redwan Talukder and Md. Forkan, Bauphal Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Md. Ishaq and other dignitaries were present.
Upazila agriculture officer Md. Milon said that under the agricultural incentive programme, a total of 3,950 small and marginal farmers of the upazila will get seeds, fertilizer and saplings in phase.
Today, 200 small and marginal farmers and some institutions from two unions received seeds, seedlings and chemical fertilizers.
Seeds of Ufshi Aman, vegetables and saplings of lemon, mango, neem, bell, jam and jackfruit, hybrid pepper were distributed under the incentive programme.
Palm and coconut saplings were also distributed to 23 educational institutions at the event.
Besides, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Aminul Islam inaugurated the fruit fair in front of the upazila parishad.
