1 held with huge VoIP equipment in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 2, 2025 (BSS)- Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)  arrested a trader with huge  quantity of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment from the city’s Halishahor B Block area early  today. 

 Acting on secret information, a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in a multi storied apartment building in the Block B area around 3 am, said Major Sanria Chowdhury, Assistant Director, (RAB)-7.

The RAB team along with BTRC officials, found a large number of illegal VoIP business instruments including   30 SIM boxes, 10 powerful servers, at least 10,000 mobile SIMs   , multiple routers, computers, and networking equipment from different flats in the building and arrested one Mizan Khan, 32.

Following specific information that the businessman had been involved in illegal VoIP trading for long and evaded huge revenue, law enforcers raided the five floors of the said multi storied apartment building and arrested the businessman with huge quantity of VoIP equipment   at 3 am today, sources added. 
  
The estimated cost of the seized VoIP equipment is about TK 50 lakh, sources said.

 A case has been filed with Halishahor police station in this connection.
