JHENAIDAH, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed when a pickup van hit an easy bike in the Amtala Bazar area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Monwara Khatun, 60, daughter of Bahen Mondol of Chutlia village in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Mritunjoy Biswas of Arappur Highway Police Station said that Monwara Khatun was on her way to Jhenaidah by an easy bike this morning when a speedy Jhenaidah-bound pickup van coming from Kushtia hit the vehicle, leaving her critically injured.
She was taken to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

The body has been kept at the hospital morgue. Police detained the pickup van, but its driver managed to flee.
