Two killed in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - A truck driver and his helper were killed when a passenger bus hit them in the Dumdia area here early today.

The deceased were identified as Afran Fakir, 35, from Khulna, and his helper Yasin Molla, 18, from Gopalganj.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhatiapara Highway Police Station M. Maksudur Rahman said Afran and Yasin were heading to Gopalganj on a mango-laden truck. Around 1:30 am, while they were fixing a mechanical fault on the vehicle after reaching the Dumdia area, a passenger bus rammed into them, leaving both critically injured.

They were taken to the 250-bed Gopalganj General Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

The bodies were handed over to their families after completing the necessary legal formalities.
