PATUAKHALI, July 17, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a youth with counterfeit currency of Tk 39,000 during a drive in Women's College Road area in Bauphal upazila here last night.

The arrestee, Palash Hawlader, 25, son of Nurul Haque Hawlader, hails from Ward No-9 of Palash Municipality in the same upazila.

On information, a team from Bauphal Police Station conducted the operation around 9:00pm and recovered the fake notes from his possession, said Officer-in-Charge Atiqur Rahman.

A case has been filed, and Palash will be produced before court today.
