3 workers die after falling from under-construction building in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 18, 2025 (BSS)-Three workers have died after falling from the ninth floor of an under-construction building at Rangam Convention Hall area of Kotwali thana this afternoon.

Locals brought them to Chattogram Medical College (CMC) Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared two of them dead. 

The deceased were identified as Md Hasan, 36, son of Firoz Goyal of Char Jabbar area of Noakhali district, Fakhrul Islam, 39, son of Md Selim of Subarnachar upazila, and Rashed, 27, son of Abul Kalam of Charnangalia area of Char Jabbar upazila. 

SI Nurul Alam Ashek of CMC Hospital Police Outpost told journalists that the three were brought to the hospital after 12:30 pm. The attending doctors declared them dead after admission.

OC Abdul Karim of Kotwali Thana said the construction workers were working in an under-construction multi-storied building. At one stage, they fell off from the building and died on the spot. 

The bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue, he added.
