'Mothers of July martyrs to remain a source of inspiration'

RANGPUR, August 2, 2025 (BSS) -Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal has said that the sacrifice of the mothers of the July-August martyrs will remain immortal as a lasting source of national inspiration.

"The great sacrifice of the mothers of the July martyrs is our source of inspiration. Their beloved children have written a new chapter in history by laying down their lives for the welfare of the country," he said.

He made the remarks while addressing a parents' rally titled 'Mothers of July' and a screening of the film 'Mothers of July', held today at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room in the city, as part of the July Rejuvenation 2025 programme.

The event was jointly organized by the district administration and the District Women's Affairs Department, with participation from mothers and family members of the martyrs and injured in the July-August Uprising.

Presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, the rally was also addressed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramiz Alam, and Deputy Director of Rangpur Women's Affairs Department Selwara Begum.

Mothers of the July-August martyrs-Jahanara Begum, Shila Begum, Kaniz Fatema, Nasima Begum, Habiba Sultana, and Angura Begum-also spoke at the rally, along with July fighters Imran Ahmed, Nahid Hasan Khandaker, Hanif Khan Sajib, Ayan Ahsan, and Jamil Ahmed.

Earlier, Assistant Director of the District Information Office, Md Alamgir Kabir, presented a documentary on 'Mothers of July' at the initiative of the Rangpur District Information Office.

In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that every citizen should pay deep respect to the martyrs and injured of the uprising and express gratitude to their mothers and guardians. He called for transforming this collective grief into strength.

He urged everyone to carry out their duties with honesty and vigilance against all evil forces in order to build a developed, prosperous, and discrimination-free Bangladesh-as envisioned by the martyrs of the July-August Mass Uprising.

Government officials, people from all walks of life, were present at the event.
