MAGURA, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) - Marking the first anniversary of the historic 2024 Mass Uprising, the district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami today organized various programmes, including a rally and prayers, in memory of the martyrs.

The party brought out a mass rally from Nomani Maidan which paraded through the main streets of the town in the morning.

District Jamaat Ameer Professor M B Baker and Nayeb-e-Ameer Mahbubur Rahman were present on the occasion.

At the end of the rally, party leaders offered a two-rakat Shukrana (gratitude) prayer at Bhayna intersection, seeking forgiveness for the departed souls of the martyrs.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said the sacrifices made during the July-August mass movement must not go in vain.

They said the people can only be freed from what they termed today's fascism and misrule through an Islamic movement.

"We are organizing ourselves with that goal in mind and are committed to establishing a justice-based state in honor of the martyrs' blood," they added.
