KHULNA, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - The joint forces in a drive arrested four criminals last night from Rupsa upazila in the district.

The team also seized a foreign-made pistol, ammunition, a machete, two knives, a large Swiss Gear knife, and two kilograms of cannabis from their possession, Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha police station, confirmed.

Acting on a tip-off, the joint forces team conducted a drive at the residence of Hafiz, the prime suspect of the Sabbir murder case, at Madhyapara Rajapur area under Aichgati Union in Rupsha Upazila last night.

The team arrested Sheikh Hafiz, 32, his associates Tanjil Hasan Joyti, 37, Md Masum Sheikh, 22, and Dipu Sheikh, 24, from there.

OC said, arrestees are the top criminals and locally known as "B Company," accused in multiple cases, including murder and drugs.

Legal procedures are underway to file cases under the Arms Act and the Narcotics Control Act, OC added.
