NATORE, Aug 31, 2025 (BSS) - Maskalai dal seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed to small and marginal farmers in Singra upazila of the district under the Agri Incentive Program (AIP).

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mazharul Islam distributed the incentives among the farmers at a function held at the upazila parishad (UP) premises this morning.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Khandaker Farid Hasan was present at the time. 

Farid Hasan said that under the program, 40 selected farmers of the upazila have been provided with five kilograms (Kgs) of seeds, 10-kg of Di Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) and five-kg of Muriate of Potassium (MOP) fertilizer for cultivating Maskalai dal on one bigha of land. 

The government is providing free seeds and chemical fertilizers to 500 small and marginal farmers of seven upazilas of the district, including Singra, for cultivating Maskalai dal on one bigha.

Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) has allocated an incentive of Taka 5.77 lakh for the farmers of the district.
