BGB seizes smuggled goods worth Tk 1.36cr in Sylhet

SYLHET, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized smuggled goods worth Tk 1.36 crore in separate drives conducted in different areas of Sylhet.

Acting on a tip-off, members of the 48th BGB Battalion carried out raids in Protappur BOP, Banglabazar, Tamabil, Utma, Bichanakandi, Sangram and Dibir Haor areas early in the morning.

The seized items include Indian sarees, sunglasses, cattle, chocolates, cosmetics, tea leaves, sugar and catfish, BGB sources said.

Legal action is underway in connection with the incident.
