PATUAKHALI, Sept 6, 2025 (BSS) - A joint operation by Bangladesh Coast Guard and local police seized yaba, marijuana, counterfeit notes and foreign currency worth approximately Tk 35 lakh in Patuakhali.

Acting on secret intelligence, the raid was conducted at Pairakunj Ferry Ghat around 4 am yesterday. 

During the operation, officials seized 7,050 yaba pills, 396 grams of marijuana, Tk 74,420 in cash, 25,600 fake notes and foreign currency worth Tk 95,300.

No arrests were made as the smugglers managed to flee the scene. Efforts to hand over the seized items to relevant authorities are underway.
