Six held with ganja in Rangpur, Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives arrested six alleged drug dealers with 33.4 kg of ganja from different places of Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts on Wednesday. 

A team of RAB-13’s Sadar Company searched an auto-rickshaw in Laksmitari area under Gangachara Model Police Station of Rangpur, seized 20 kg of ganja, the auto-rickshaw and arrested three persons from the spot at 7:30 pm, a press release said today.

 The detainees were identified as A Barik, 25, of village Pranath Patikapara and Md Rakibul Islam, 19, of village Sundrahabi of Lalmonirhat and Md Mustakim, 21, of village Char Eshorekol of Rangpur.
 
In another operation, a team of RAB-13 from Rangpur conducted a raid at the Teesta Toll Plaza under Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station and seized 13.4 kg of ganja and a truck and arrested three persons at 10:40 pm.
 
The arrestees were identified as Md Ohidul Biswas, 50, of village Gangarampur, Md Tariqul Islam, 38, of village Mirer Para and Md Saban Ali, 48, of village Taragania of Kusthia district.
 
The elite force handed over the arrested persons along with the seized ganja, auto-rickshaw and truck to the respective police stations in Rangpur and Lalmonirhat districts, the release added.
