Chatra Dal leader jailed during July uprising passes away

SATKHIRA, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS)- Former Joint Secretary of the Satkhira District Chatra Dal, who was imprisoned during the July uprising, passed away today from a heart attack whileundergoing treatment at the Satkhira Medical College and Hospital here.

The deceased is Sajid Mahmud, 25, a resident of the Parulia Union in the Debhata upazila of the district.

According to Md. Shahin Islam, member secretary of Satkhira town Chatra Dal, Sajid suddenly became ill after suffering a heart attack on Thursday night. He was rushed to the hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead at 2:45am, he said.
 
He was laid to rest at his family graveyard in Parulia today following a Namaz-e-Janaza after Juma (Friday) prayers, Shahin added.
