Farmer killed in Gopalganj road accident

GOPALGANJ, Oct 10, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer was killed after being run over by a microbus while crossing the road in Gopalganj.

The accident occurred this morning on the Gopalganj-Tekerhat regional highway near the Kanshur bus stand area in Sadar upazila of the district.

The deceased, Parash Bala, 60, was the son of the late Ropchad Bala of Arua Kanshur village in Sadar upazila.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Mir Md. Sajedur Rahman told BSS that the farmer was crossing the road 
on foot when a speeding microbus hit him in the area, causing instant death at the scene.

Later, police recovered his body and sent it to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital morgue. After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family, 
the OC added.
