RANGAMATI, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has organized a free medical camp to provide healthcare services and distribute medicines among underprivileged residents in Dopanichhara, a remote border area of Bilaichhari upazila of the district.

The medical camp, held this morning at Dopanichhara Para, was conducted under the supervision of BGB's Ruma Battalion-9 and led by Medical Officer Major Timir Ranjan Mahant.

A total of 25 local residents, including men, women, children, and the elderly, received free health checkups, medical consultations, and necessary medicines during the day-long camp.

Speaking about the initiative, Ruma Battalion Commander Lt. Col. ABM Shah Reza said that due to the area's remote location and poor communication network, residents of the hilly border regions remain deprived of healthcare facilities.

"Considering this situation, Ruma Battalion has arranged this medical camp as part of its humanitarian responsibilities," he added.

Lt. Col. Reza further mentioned that apart from performing regular border security duties, Ruma Battalion has been conducting various humanitarian and public welfare programs, including free medical services, to improve the well-being of local communities and pledged to continue such efforts in the future.
