Jayed helps Sylhet hit back against Rangpur

DHAKA, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) - Pacer Abu Jayed Rahi claimed 4-36 as Sylhet Division clawed back into the contest to leave their National Cricket League (NCL) third round game against Rangpur in parity at Cox’s Bazar Cricket Stadium today.

Jayed’s brilliant bowling reduced Rangpur 187-8 at stumps on Day 2, after Sylhet were bowled out for just 199 runs.
Sylhet are in now with a chance to take a lead despite an ordinary total on the board.

Jayed ripped through Rangpur’s top order with a sensational bowling, bringing the side back into the contest. The other bowlers also dazzled with him as Rangpur slumped to 45-5. 

Skipper Tanbir Hyder played a 49-run knock and was ably supported by Abu Hasim’s 31 which eventually help Rangpur recover from the early collapse.

Earlier, resumed the day at 172-7, Sylhet were able to add just 27 runs before being all out for 199.
Mukidul Islam Mugdho, Robiul Hoque and Abdullah Al Mamun grabbed three wickets apiece.
