AL leader arrested in Natore

NATORE, Nov 9, 2025 (BSS) – Police arrested Advocate Ohidur Rahman Sheikh, president of the Singra upazila unit of Awami League, from Singra Bazar area of the district this morning.

 According to police sources, a team from Singra Police Station detained him from the Singra Bazar area around 9.30 am on Sunday.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singra Police Station Md. Mominuzzaman confirmed the arrest, stating that Advocate Ohidur Rahman Sheikh was detained as an accused in a case related to an attack on a BNP peace rally held on September 3, 2024, at Ramananda-Khajura union under Singra upazila.

“The arrested Awami League leader will be produced before the court after completing legal procedures,” OC Mominuzzaman added.

Further investigations are underway in connection with the case.
