Smuggled goods seized in Satkhira border

SATKHIRA, Nov 18, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled Indian goods during an anti-smuggling drive conducted in several border points of the district.

According to BGB, the seized items included Indian sharees, liquor, medicines and paddy seeds.

The drives were carried out in the border areas under the jurisdiction of Bhomra, Kalyani, Toluigacha, Kakdanga, Jhaudanga, Madra, Hijaldi, Sultanpur, Chanduria and the Bankal Check Post BOP of Satkhira Sadar and Kalaroa upazilas on Monday.

Acting on intelligence reports, special BGB teams launched coordinated operations in the areas and seized goods worth about Taka 8.72 lakh, said Lt. Col. Md. Ashraful Haque, commander of Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion.
