Four brick kilns fined in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - Four brick kilns here in the district were imposed fines for producing bricks using soil extracted from agricultural land.

The Kendua upazila administration conducted drive on Tuesday in Ashuzia and Balaishimul unions under the upazila.

During the operation, a mobile court fined M/S Sani Bricks, M/S TIB Bricks, M/S AN Bricks and M/S AST Brick Field a total of Tk four lakh for manufacturing bricks using topsoil from agricultural land. 

Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Naeem-ul Islam Chowdhury led the operation.

Assistant Director of the Department of Environment Abdullah Al Matin and Inspector Mahbubul Islam assisted in the mobile court proceedings, while a team of Kendua Police Station and members of Kendua Fire Service and Civil Defence extended overall support.

Abdullah Al Matin said that drives against illegal brick kilns operating without clearance from the Department of Environment and using soil from agricultural land will continue.
