Fish trader killed in Chuadanga road crash

CHUADANGA, Jan 6, 2026 (BSS) - A fish trader was killed and another injured in a head-on collision between a sand-laden truck and a fish-laden vehicle at PTI intersection near Madhabitala under Alamdanga upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ali, 40, son of Shamsul Haque Farazi of Baganmath village in Maheshpur upazila of Jhenaidah district.

The accident took place on the Chuadanga-Alamdanga road around 7.30 am when the two vehicles collided head-on, leaving fish trader Mohammad Ali dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured fish-laden vehicle driver Zahurul Islam was taken to a nearby hospital.

Alamdanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bani Israel confirmed the matter and said the body was recovered and sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. Further legal proceedings are underway, he added.
